Neptune + Asset Vantage: an accounting foundation with a wider orbit
Asset Vantage combines accounting and investment reporting for complex wealth. Neptune’s complementary role is to coordinate evidence and responsibilities that span the wider family office.

Two roles. One better workflow.
Compare the role each system can play. Capabilities overlap; the useful test is whether this combination improves your office’s actual process.
| Dimension | Asset Vantage | Neptune |
|---|---|---|
| Core role | Multi-entity accounting, consolidated investment reporting and data aggregation. | A shared operating workspace connecting entities, evidence, obligations, tasks and permission-aware agents. |
| Records to bring | Authorized entity, account and investment exports with currencies and dates. | CSV, XLSX or JSON previews, field mapping, validation and duplicate review before a confirmed import. |
| Best place to start | Keep the source system and the controls your office assigns to it. | Bring a capital call, filing deadline or philanthropic commitment into a shared evidence trail. |
| Agent authority | Source access follows your provider contract, role and export permissions. | Temporary, scoped, revocable access for ordinary records and imports. Humans retain financial approval. |
| Connection today | Obtain an export through an authorized operator or permitted agent. | Portable file imports and the Neptune API. A native Asset Vantage connector or ledger write-back is not implemented. |

Preserve the accounting and reporting backbone
The reviewed materials describe general ledger, multi-entity accounting, consolidated investment reporting and data aggregation. Neptune’s imported asset values are dated records, not a substitute for Asset Vantage’s accounting or performance calculations.
Connect investment events to people and deadlines
A capital call becomes an entity-specific obligation. A governance filing becomes a task with an owner and a due date. A philanthropic commitment can have both a funding obligation and a measured goal. Each remains tied to its source evidence.
Use exports with permission
Obtain a permitted report or data export, map entity identifiers and currencies, preview it, then commit the import. Neptune’s agent import token can support an authorized extraction workflow, but it does not confer permission inside Asset Vantage.
Reconcile before you scale
Start with a small entity and compare totals against the original report. Preserve the reporting date. Send Neptune’s settlement journal and evidence back to the official accountant through the office’s approved process. Native Asset Vantage write-back is not claimed.
Primary sources
Provider descriptions are based on the following reviewed materials. Vendor names identify independent products; no partnership or native connector is implied.
Bring one workflow into orbit.
Start with the example office, then create a private workspace and import a permitted export.
