Neptune + Archway: strong books, connected responsibilities
Archway’s accounting-led platform covers complex entities and investment operations. Neptune can wrap operational evidence and coordination around that foundation while the official accounting process remains in place.

Two roles. One better workflow.
Compare the role each system can play. Capabilities overlap; the useful test is whether this combination improves your office’s actual process.
| Dimension | Archway | Neptune |
|---|---|---|
| Core role | Aggregation, investment reporting and complex accounting on a common general ledger. | A shared operating workspace connecting entities, evidence, obligations, tasks and permission-aware agents. |
| Records to bring | Permitted account, entity or investment reports, reconciled against the source. | CSV, XLSX or JSON previews, field mapping, validation and duplicate review before a confirmed import. |
| Best place to start | Keep the source system and the controls your office assigns to it. | Connect source evidence to an approval, then hand a balanced operational journal to your accountant. |
| Agent authority | Source access follows your provider contract, role and export permissions. | Temporary, scoped, revocable access for ordinary records and imports. Humans retain financial approval. |
| Connection today | Obtain an export through an authorized operator or permitted agent. | Portable file imports and the Neptune API. A native Archway connector or ledger write-back is not implemented. |

Keep complex accounting in its established home
Archway’s reviewed materials include general ledger, investment and partnership accounting, entity look-through, multi-currency consolidation and cash management. These are substantial capabilities; a new operating layer should not casually replace them.
Make the work around a ledger visible
In Neptune, a source document links to an obligation, beneficiary and entity-specific funding account. Staff and advisors can see their permitted responsibilities without needing a broad view of every entity. The approval is attached to the exact proposal.
Bridge the closing process
After human-confirmed settlement, Neptune creates a balanced journal and preserves the evidence chain. Export the office package for an accountant to review and reconcile with Archway. Neptune does not claim automated production posting into Archway.
Measure the improvement
Track missing documents, duplicate imports, stale approvals and unresolved tasks. A faster narrative summary alone is not evidence of a better close. Keep the underlying provider reports and compare the verified completion process.
Primary sources
Provider descriptions are based on the following reviewed materials. Vendor names identify independent products; no partnership or native connector is implied.
Bring one workflow into orbit.
Start with the example office, then create a private workspace and import a permitted export.
